black beauty

Black is a powerful color -- even tiny touches of it can completely transform a room and add much needed weight and drama. I especially love  the way it stands out when mixed with rich creams, sophisticated metallics and subtle pastels.

I've never been bold enough to add black (or many dark colors, for that matter) to a room. I love the idea of a chalkboard wall though-- and that picture of the library/sitting room with the peonies makes me realize that black can bring elegance to a space. Maybe I'll grow a pair and just try it...

Black is fabulous! It somehow sharpens otherwise soft interiors.

I love black and that colour scheme with the gold and pastel pink is stunning. That dining room is one of my favourites :)

I always think a room is stronger design wise if it has at least a little touch of black. It grounds a room! LOVE your images!

I love the use of the solid colored paint strips! If colors work in a necklace, they are sure to work in a room! Color Blocking is such a transferable beauty - from makeup to clothing to interior design! Perfection.

Love black. I just painted my bathroom black. Congrats on the One Kings Lane feature. I don't know how I haven't come across your blog? I'm in the Chicago area and we have a lot of the same blog friends (faves).
