When I went to Madrid this Spring I was in awe of the hotel we stayed at (hotel alicia) and it was the first time I realized how inspiring hotels can be for residential interior design. And just in case you need a few reasons why...
Completely agree and have often used hotel references in my own designs.
There are some truly fabulous hotels out there to get design references from. A very small Inn in Napa that I went to on my honeymoon had a big influence when we moved home 7 yrs ago.
I love the 1st pic. Hotels are my inspiration...take a look on my blog 'Les plus beaux HOTELS DESIGN du monde/The best DESIGN HOTELS worldwide', maybe you'll find inspirations... xx
I work in the hotel industry and get to see first-hand how hotel design can influence home design...the good and the bad! I also get to see when hotel design looks great but in a real-world situation falls flat for every-day use. I love that first photo and especially love that side table. I have a hankering to take it on as a project this weekend!
Stunning! Thank you for sharing! The treatment behind the bed in the second picture is intriguing . . . any idea what it is? Best, Catherine www.completelycatherine.com
I just recently finished a little stint I took through Europe, and have found that many hotels are very inspirational for home designers. The idea being, I believe, that they actually have to create comfy, cozy, and functional rooms out of necessity. Otherwise, the hotel would fail to be frequented. I do love the photo of the bed with the patterned design on the wall above it.
Decorating wall with photographs, is superb idea to hide painting mistakes. I also done same work in dining room, I shared your idea in my personal blog with your name.
Beautiful home decoration. I am so adore that you shared this information with us. I am also planning to decorate the home. From your article I got ideas. So I am very much thanking you for giving such a wonderful ideas.
