oh, erin martin...

House Beautiful has shaken up the magazine a bit lately with a new editor and new features-I have to say I like it! It does help that a home designed by one of my favorites, Erin Martin, was featured in the latest issue. Her attention to detail is always inspiring--the chains hanging in the fireplace especially delight me.

I really enjoyed talking to Erin. She's every bit as interesting as her interiors!

Soooo lovely. You know, I've tried to do neutrals for a few rounds, but lately people have come into my home and been surprised it's not more full of color. Maybe I'll have to continue turning over more design leaves.
House Beautiful NEVER lets me down! I loved that feature as well. The bed in particular caught my eye. It's unique and stylish. And I am huge fan of neutrals. Great post!

Gorgeous!! Erin Martin is definitely going on the list as a fave designer :) Thanks for sharing!!
I thought this was a good issue and I ADORED the chimney chains ;)
Several of my readers over at Nero were more nonplussed by it all.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoyed the Erin Martin bit -- and oooh, there was a Carrara and Chinese-chaired kitchen that was rather glorious too.
Cheers, Alcira

I love that bench opposite the window in the first photo. The base looks like something you store firewood in. Makes you wonder if that's indeed what it was in a previous life.

The living room is fabulous. I like the scale of the room - high ceilings, grand fireplace and statement windows. Plus the interior decorating is divine.

I like how the cross gabled roofing looked in the inside, creating a high ceiling. It reminds me of the cottage in Miami that my wife and I stayed in last summer. The owner, who also owns a bedding company showed us some comfortable bed sheets that they use in their resort. Most of the furniture were wood.
Authentic decoration specially the first decoration .
