Twenty vertical feet of windows is a pretty amazing feature on its own but add an amazingly patterned vaulted ceiling and you have the makings for one room that will keep your chin up.

get the look {military chic}
The military trend is back this fall and I love it, as olive green is one of my favorite colors to sport in the fall. Each of these pieces, some more subtle than others, will add a military chic feel to your look.

immersed in bubbles
Well, it is here...that white stuff called snow. All I want to do is cozy up in a beautiful claw foot tub immersed in bubbles by a roaring fire. For the moment a cup of hot chamomile tea will just have to do!

sweet {canopy} dreams
Oh, the luxury of canopy beds-perfect for savoring the weekend and all of its simple pleasures from foamy lattes to perusing the Sunday Times. This canopy was designed by Alexandra Champalimaud and I am completely awestruck by how beautifully she combined structure with flow.

kitchen inspiration {industrial chic}
There is something quite sensible about industrial kitchen style. It only seems appropriate that the clean lines of the cookware used in the room is mimicked in the design. However, as with most industrial looks it can also look cold and severe. These two kitchens are great examples of how adding certain elements can temper this.

The addition of the worn wood accents in the floor and the column instantly add warmth and charm, as do the visually interesting light fixtures. I actually can't stop thinking about the pendant fixture in the above image and have added this similar one from the Kara Mann showroom to my wish list!

loving {taupe + nautical blue}
Wow, how is it only Tuesday and I am already wiped out!? The fresh and clean look of nautical blue mixed with neutrals is definitely helping invigorate me.

{lazy} sunday spot
I love Sunday evenings, despite the fact that it is the eve of the beginning of the work week. It is the most relaxing of nights for me. I love just lounging around without guilt. Tonight, I wish I was relaxing among these charming prints.

Just for fun, a little pastel loveliness and beautiful billowing draperies to end the week.

{refined rustic} tabletops
Talk of Thanksgiving plans has started, which always gets me excited and my mind spinning with tabletop ideas. This year instead of just one large floral arrangement I adore the idea of multiple small and differing style arrangements. I don't like anything too fussy and formal so these refined yet also rustic floral designs from Lily & Co are perfect inspiration.

home crush {mirrored contemporary}
This home may not make the cut for my all time favorites list but it is chalk full of inspiration, especially in terms of mirror use and artwork display. I am just crazy about the lovely way these symmetrical mirrors frame the door and act as an architectural element.

And I love all the little subtle touches of gold in each room that tie the look of the home together.

barstool envy
I have to admit that I have a secret desire to be a food network host. I love entertaining and cooking under the observation of friends, while hopefully carrying on an enjoyable conversation. However, I do wish I could seat my guests at the bar overlooking the stove top in these lovely chairs and under such unique lighting.

Red packs a lot of punch and is better used in small doses and tempered with neutrals, just like this....

event inspiration {crisp citrus}
Ok, so I am continuing on my orange kick. I just think that crisp white and bold citrus orange are such a lovely combination, especially for an early fall affair. I especially love the use of flowers in a rustic willow wreath--just lovely.

It is back {brilliant orange}
When I first started blogging two and a half years ago orange was one of the "it" color and I love it. Such a happy hue and one that I have scattered through my one home. From the looks of the Spring 2011 runway shoes orange is still as hot as ever, a few pieces for the home that definitely back that up...

eye candy {peony pink and warm slate}
Pink is not a color that I think of or like ofter for interiors. I definitely enjoy the feminine end of of the color wheel but think that pinks so often make a room look saccharine and one dimensional. There are sometimes rooms filled with pink that surprise me, and this one from Alessandra Branca is one of them. The peony pink mixed is tempered well by the warm slate shades, layered patterns and texture of the ottoman and the rug,

Lovely, right? I think I will be thinking about that ottoman all day actually.

fashioning interiors {karen walker}
The spring 2011 line from Karen Walker was a breath of fresh air full of bright colors and some stunning original patterns. However, my favorites were these two ensembles. I love the casual cut of the shirts with the flowy (pocketed!) skirts and the classic belts.

{perfect} glamour fix
Oh, how fun over the top glamour can be and sitting here having my coffee and zipped up in a patagonia fleece I am definitely craving a little dose. This space (and that Valentino dress) is the perfect quick fix!

(via Harper's Bazzar)
I love the touches of gold and formal flowers against that stunning and unexpected chandelier. And don't get me started on that absolutely perfect bar cart!
