evening eye candy {metallic mosaics}

Ok, I know a metallic mosaic tile back splash may seem like a bold choice but I just adore the way it looks in this kitchen. When paired with a playful pale blue ceiling and sleek cabinet hardware it comes across as modern and sophisticated space.

So inquiring minds (well, mine!) want to know-- what is your take on this look?

Love it for a posh, girly pad!

I love it! What a great idea to paint the ceiling a fun shade of blue in order to add some color in an otherwise neutral space!

Love the color combo - but it looks a bit like pennies. I think it's a bit too shiny, but would be curious to know how it's going to age. It would be nice if it eventually becomes green.

I love the country and contemporary element. It's a great mix of both.

Looks amazing! I wonder how easy it is to clean tho?!
Don't know if I personally could commit to it, but I LOVE the tile paired with the oversized hardware.

Love it! We are adding a stainless steel blacksplash to our kitchen this fall.

I absolutely love metallic mosaic tiles in the kitchen! I saw them in several magazines before and also in Lauren Conrad's old kitchen on The Hills! Ha! I love the sparkle and glam that it brings to the kitchen.
I like it but would feel like I was in a disco all the time. Which maybe OK I guess.

Wow, what a gorgeous idea! It's like fancy ear rings for a little black (or white) dress!

Ooh. I quite like this... a lot.

I agree with a previous comment: it is feminine, but it is also masculine (is this possible?)

Hands down: love the style, love the simple-yet-elegant features, love the magazine it came from.

What a gem!
It really is a jewel of a space.
The silver metallic tiles mirror the silver stainless, and that is what makes it work.

It could have worked just as well with glass tile.

I love the glamour that backsplash exudes!! That and the hint of color on the ceiling. It's divine!

How classy and glamorous this looks. I love it!
i would TOTALLY do this! it comes off as very chic with the turquoise ceiling & white cabinetry.

I LOVE the backsplash. I think I might want to do this, in fact. We have a teeny-tiny vintage kitchen that desperately needs updating, and I LOVE this look. Thanks, for finding it.
Love it! Just toured Bary Dixon's kitchen/great room at the first "green" designer show house in McLean, VA where he used a mica walpaper in the kitchen paired with recycled crushed glass counters - really gorgeous!

I'd love to see those metallic penny tiles combined with a roughhewn rustic cabinet.

Those are pennies. This picture was posted on Tumblr showing homes with pennies incorporated into their design.
