whimsical lighting {paper lanterns}

In general I am confident about which trends I like and don't like quite quickly. However, paper lanterns used indoors was one that took a while to warm up too. I have seen them used for a while now and I had loved them for events and on the patio but in your bedroom or kitchen!? Well, I am a convert. Lately I find every room featuring them both lovely and whimsical.

Do you think that paper lanterns should be brought inside?

I'm with you... took me some time to warm up to the idea, but I love that one over the dining room table!

I totally love lanterns indoor. When all lights are off and the lantern is the only thing that's lit up, it creates a serene atmosphere(and with some relaxing music)for me.
I like paper lanterns inside a space, but I like them at a smaller scale bundle together and hang at different heights.:=)
i have a big lantern over my dining room table - it's unexpected and magical at night. i adore your blog...would you like to trade links?

I recently became a fan of the paper lantern look! I thought for so long that they would remind me I've my not-so-lovely dorm decorating days, but in fact they are just opposite! Clean, simple, and a lot of fun! Great post! :) XOXO

I love these oversized styles! I found a smaller version via JCPenney - for $14! Gonna use one in my daughter's room!

absolutely! I just use them in my kid's bedroom...they are three different sizes and three beautiful hues...my kids love them and they add so much to an otherwise non-descript room!

I love them, and plan on putting them in our guest bedroom! If I didn't live in an apartment, I'd put one in our dining room too! Love these!
I've always liked them in other people's home, but they are not for me in my own home. Lovely images!

I have come to realize that your blog has become my home away from home. I have been refering to it quite often lately, trying to gather ideas for all of my friends that are moving. Thanks for your help!!! Happy Monday

My little guy is mesmerized by these when we see them... They do drive him crazy though not being able to play with the "big ball".

I love that bedspread in the first picture!
