loft living

The first time I set foot in a loft was when I was living in Chicago and working in advertising--I was stopping by a co-workers place and was both amazed and baffled by the open space. I remember not quite knowing if I loved or hated them. However, I have to say that the high ceilings and abundant natural light have definitely won me over!

What is your take on the loft?

Living in a loft would definitely take some special planning in terms of finding the right way to decorate- but the trade off- all that space- would definitely be worth it!

There's something so appealing to me about one large living space. I've always secretly dreamed of owning an A-frame home that's one grand space.

I like lofts because of the space but it is tricky to design them so it appears developed but not just full of stuff. I think the second picture loft is stunning but I would like to see it more developed. The mirror over the fireplace is wonderful with the arched window openings.

I've always loved lofts. I think it can be overwhelming at first from a decorating standpoint but I think I could deal with it for the chance to live in one!

I love lofts but don't know if I could deal with not having a backyard - I love my chihuahuas too much!

LOVE IT! The ceilings, the windows, the brick, the open space, the view, the light, LOVE IT ALL! Having a secluded bedroom would be the icing on the cake!

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to really put a room where ever you want it in such an open space rather than where the walls have been pre-set!

I adore the oval mirror over the fireplace. Fantastic!

I wouldn't give it a second thought. If I lived in the city, I'd live in one in a second! Love!

I live in a loft and I love it but I also hate working with the tall walls. (22') I don't know if I can ever go back to normal height walls though. Great inspiration!

I could move right into that last loft. Husband and I thought it would be so fun minus the kiddos though;)
