fashioning interiors

I am always amazed by the influence that fashion has on interior design and vis versa. And it just happens that many of the clothes and rooms I have stored away lately show my taste on the runway and in the home are quite similar at the moment!

(via pure public and 3.1. phillip lim resort 2010)

(via chloe resort 2010 and scanned from lofts&condos magazine)

(via elie sabb and marie claire maison)

(via olga naiman and dvf pre-spring 2010)
Hope you all have a lovely day! On a sidenote, what do you think about the giant bow adornment at the dvf show?

I like how you're paired it with runway designs. Very cool. My favorite is the Elie Saab.
GENIUS! Love them all, but that first one with the polka dots? SUBLIME!

I am in love with the dots = both instances = fashion and interiors!

P.S. DVF has lost her way.

It used to be about easy dresses that you simply tied around your waist. No buttons, no zippers. It was like wearing your bathrobe out in public = so comfy.

The last several seasons she has started using double knit pockets on the hips, as though a woman needs two extra layers of fabric on the widest part of her body?

I think the bow is a further sign of how far out of reach her design team has strayed from her key audience.

I was surprised to see those giant bows from the DVF show. It doesn't seem to fit her style at all. At least to me.

I love how you paired the interior design with runway fashion, and as for that giant bow...let's just say that I'm not a fan.

Love the polka dots! Both in the room and outfit. Yum.
I have never really thought about this! The pictures are really fun to see next to each other. Hope you are having a good week.

The giant bows remind me of the 80's with the gelled tight hair and the big bows we'd clip in. Not so much a fan.

Love love love the polka dots, though!

So fun... and perfectly paired too!
I'm always thinking (when on vacation usually) that a certain dress or outfit would "look AMAZING in this room"!!

The DVF bow hat reminds me of the hat that Aretha Franklin wore to the inauguration. Check it out here: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/alltherage/2009/01/inaugural-hat-t.html
