class is in session

I am currently having a phase where I just love vintage school style chairs used in interiors, whether they really are old classroom chairs or the classic eames molded plywood chairs. They just add such a wonderful casual, retro and slightly nostalgic feel to a space.

Ooh, I'm loving it too. And that table cloth and that half door... What are they called, dutch doors, or something?

Hey, I tried to mail you your gc with the address I had from Tonya's giveaway a while ago and it got returned. Email me your address and I'll resend: perfectsentiment (at) gmail (dot) com.

Happy Weekend!

What a fabulous series of pic, B! Some of those chairs bring me back to middle school! And I love the space in the last photo ~ the half door is awesome!

I agree, I like the first two photos.. The table in the kitchen is awesome, love the legs and to have rollers on that chair, how cool to sit and move from table to sink!..
Any suggestions of where I can find the chairs in photo #3 (reasonably priced!)??

Unfortunately the real one are quite pricy-http://www.dwr.com/product/furniture/dining/chairs/series-7-chair-beech.do?sortby=ourPicks

The closest similar and much cheaper version are these from Ikea:http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60059441

I will do some more sleuthing this afternoon!
Love that tablecloth. So fun and funky!
i like them too, but i'm filling my home with even older pieces of furniture. i regularly visit a really nice vintage store (huge) in stockholm, and they sell barock chairs and everything else for no money at all... i've bought some coffee tables and re-painted them. lovely and much fun! have a nice wkd!

i've always loved this type of chair, too. i'll see one in a church or school or office or second-hand store . . . and i'll comment about how neat they are. then i just get a strange look from the hubby. :) he just doesn't get it. but i think if he saw these ultra cool spaces, he would rethink it!

oh, braaaaaac . . . come look at thiiiiiiis. :)

I just screamed on the inside of my head "oh my god I need that table cloth" . . . then I scrolled and saw that it was Marimekko and everything made sense. I think I'm just going to move to Finland and get a job at their flagship . . . oh god I love their stuff

Wow, that does remind me of school! But I agree how chairs like that give such a relaxed retro vibe. My favorites are the one in the second pic!

I love those metal leg chairs but, my soft pine wood floors do not!
...beware the wood floors.
I love this look. Its hard to find vintage school chairs, but when you can, they just work with anything. Love them.

Me too but I thinks it's gone past a stage and turned into an addiction. I am looking for some for my backyard table. They'll look great and I'll be able to stack them in a corner when winter rain come.
