not your typical trench

I do not like wearing coats--which of course is not a very practical or comfortable item to leave home without in early spring. However, I think I could be persuaded to cover up if it was with one of these lovely twists of the traditional trench:

(via burberry, orla keily, aquascutum)
Or perhaps one of these candy colored collarless options:

(via chloe, eley kishimoto, orla keily)
And a very big thank you to everyone for their caring words and thoughts on today's earlier post. It is so nice to know that there are so many other people that care as much as I do! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

I really like the collar-less ones...makes them seem less like jackets and more like an outfit all their own.

i like the idea of a collar-less trench (you don't see those too often). the middle pink color is so pretty.

Oooh, I love the one with blue sunflowers on it. I think the colorless bit would feel strange.... -e

You really don't like wearing coats? How funny, I am the same way. My friends always give me such a hard time about it, but I am stubborn and will still tough through the cold without one.

Love that blue and yellow one! Would love to sport that on a dreary day. It would certainly brighten things up!
Would it be greedy of me to admit that I want all 6?

I rather wish I didn't like to wear coats because I love them and really have more than I need... and these only make me want more! I would love any of the three in the top group, and I love the pink collarless one! Great choices.

I'm in love with the chloe one: the colour, the style. Sigh.

I agree: spring outerwear has to be inspiring because it's so difficult to put on layers when the sun is shining outdoors.

Thanks for posting Orla Keily's site and pieces- I just hopped over there (finally) and she has some amazing designs! I recognized her work on other blogs and I have a piece from her Target line but I didn't know how extensive the brand really is.
