embellished necklines please!

I am beginning to notice a trend in the clothes I have been lusting after--they all have beautifully embellished necklines. I just love the color and whimsy an adorned neckline can add to a dress, like these lovely ones to from Catherine Malandrino:

And I the extra flair they add to these otherwise simple shifts from milly and alberta ferretti.

And with all the beautifully ornate necklaces out there (especially from Lanvin and Marni), one can create the appearance of an embellished neckline to any outfit!

What is your take on embellishments? Do you prefer them on certain pieces but not others?

I just adore Catherine Malandrino! These new dresses are amazing! I would be all over the white dress if it were a few hundred dollars cheaper ;)

I love those first two dresses! I absolutely love accessories, but I rarely wear any... I admire them on others and then tend to go simple for myself. I'm working on it!

Ooh I love these embellishments. It makes accessorizing so easy and so minimal.

I agree that they don't work with everything and that you can't wear this style everyday. However, it is lovely.

I am in LOVE with everything you have chosen, especially the magenta Malandrino and the pale Lanvin ribbon necklace!

These are all amazing! But if you made me choose just one- I would pick the Marni dress. I can just imagine Michelle Obama wearing that on the next Vogue cover.

Personally as far as embellishment, I prefer to keep the rest of the outfit simple to set off the centerpiece.

I love love LOVE that necklace on the bottom right side. So gorgeous. I wore a big and bold necklace today-I think it adds such a fun and whimsical edge to the simplest of outfits!

Those first two dresses are amazing, but the second two give me pause. Dresses with embellishments that appear jewelry-like always do ...

Those necklaces, on the other hand ... YUM!

Ornaments to a tree as a necklace to a dress.
Both look unadorned without, but with, they bring music to my ears.
