I adore, I mean adore these doors. I love the barn like feel of them and that they are not overwhelming or shrink the space. The black and white contrast is also quite stunning. (via unknown)
They definitely make a bold statement; and are very beautiful.
I lived in Germany for 10 years and one of the things I loved seeing while traveling throughout Europe was the unique collection of doors that graced homes, restaurants, churches and various buildings.
It's so interesting how there is a door on each corner. It does make me wonder if they lead to the same area or separate spaces. I've been dreaming of adding a door in this style to separate our master bedroom from the sink area of the master bath.
Oh this is really a great picture! thanks for sharing. By the way: Thank you so much for your nice comment at my blog! Sunny greetings from germany, geisslein
hi! i love these doors as well..my husband actually made us almost the exact thing for our bedroom and bathroom doors..except instead of painting them, we stained them with used motor oil from his old truck! sounds kooky, but it really looks amazing. it gives it that vintage, honey color. i should send you a picture so you don't think i'm crazy : ) and for the longest time, i forot to peel the price sticker off the steel rails he built them on-they were literally barn rails from southern states and they were something like 12.99! i guess my point is, they are surprisingly easy to do!! (especially if you're husband is pretty handy)
You know, now that you mention it, I really enjoy a unique door from time to time. I always notice a great door on homes and, with luck, someday I will own a home with a magnificent door. =P
