sustainable saturday {the best of letterpress]

There are really an amazing number of letterpress studios that use eco-friendly production practices, making it much easier to throw parties in eco chic fashion. I thought I would share just a few of my favorite eco-friendly and whimsical options. I just love the detail of the work from ink+wit...

..the creative motifs from pancakes&franks...

...the classic work of bella figura...

...and the perfectly simple designs from egg press:

Do you have a favorite eco friendly letterpress company?

calling cards!

Sorry to be MIA today but I have been traveling (my least favorite thing) and just arrived to my parents home in Chicago, where I will be for the next week. When I arrived home I found a lovely little surprise--letterpress calling cards and a cute little canary case for them (which goes perfectly with the navy blue type!)

Sorry for the poor photo (they are from my iphone). I promise to be back in full posting force tomorrow! In the meantime, do you have calling cards? Ok, off to peruse the lovely stack of magazines stacked by my bed!

sustainable saturday {smock letterpress}

Smock Paper is a New York based print shop that prints on bamboo paper (the first in the US to do so) using only vegetable based and low VOC inks. The use of bamboo for the paper not only makes them an eco-friendly company but for a beautiful canvas for letterpress. They describe the texture of the paper as luxurious, soft and prettier then the finest cotton papers.

gift of paper {linda & harriett}

How cute is this special valentine's day gift pack from linda & harriett? It contains an 100 page notepad and set of note cards both in the design of your choosing--all topped with their adorable pig love card and a pretty pink linda & harriett pencil.

gift from the kitchen

There have surely been times when hosting a dinner party that people ask for your recipe (well, I have only been asked once and it was for this pad thai recipe). However, instead of simply giving them a print out, sending a URL or providing a photocopy of the recipe wouldn't it be so much more lovely on one of these very sweet recipe cards from the petite press.

What is the one dish you make that makes guests ask for the recipe?

simply put

Sometimes when expressing feelings of love it is best to keep it simple as we all know love can be quite complicated. And that is exactly why I was drawn to these delightfully simple letterpress valentines from the new etsy shop, paper tiger design co.

lovely misprints {linda+harriet}

Linda and Harriet has launched a new line of products, made from their letterpress misprints. Instead of just throwing away the rejects they have introduced two totally new items to the line: flower pins made of sewn together pieces of paper and lovely gift tags. A brilliant idea with a beautiful outcome!

little blogger love

I have recently been very much enjoying reading the beautiful blog simplesong. However, I had no idea until today what an incredible talent for letterpress the author has. If you have not already, just look at some of her amazing and just flat out beautiful pieces. I think these are my two favorites:

It seems so many bloggers have hidden (or hidden to me!) talents--I would love to know what yours are? Are you an amazing chef, do you write, do you create lovely cards, have a knack for stenciling?
