sustainable saturday {maramiki}

I have been on a search for beautiful organic textiles and think the the hand-screenprinted organic creations of maramiki are my current favorite. The designs are just so beautifully delicate and whimsical!

Do you have a favorite green fabric? Also, the very talented artist and delight by design sponsor, Lara Harris, is having an incredible giveaway to celebrate her new etsy store---she is giving away a custom oil painting! I highly recommend you pop over to her blog and enter before the 28th! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

sustainable saturday {beklina botique}

I had come across the online store, beklina, earlier this year and thought the lines they showcased were unique and quite stylish but didn't realize until today that they were all green products! I was delighted and had to share some of my favorites among the amazing pieces that this three woman operation handpicked to carry...

It also seems that I am being drawn to belted looks! Happy Saturday!

sustainable saturday {maria la rosa}

I am absolutely crazy about the beautiful accessories made by Italy based, Maria La Rosa. All of the textiles are made on antique looms from specially selected natural fibers such as cotton, rafia, linen, silk, chenille, cashmere and alpaca.
I wish I had a pair of the slippers to slip on on this chilly Wyoming morning.

sustainable saturday {eco etsy find}

I am a sucker for anything with embellishments and the eco friendly products from Zelaya's etsy shop are no exception. Their lovely feminine handbags and clothes are handmade out of only biodegradable and renewable materials. Zelya seeks to "embody the innate intelligence and beauty of nature, tradition and simplicity."

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday!

sustainable saturday {the best of letterpress]

There are really an amazing number of letterpress studios that use eco-friendly production practices, making it much easier to throw parties in eco chic fashion. I thought I would share just a few of my favorite eco-friendly and whimsical options. I just love the detail of the work from ink+wit...

..the creative motifs from pancakes&franks...

...the classic work of bella figura...

...and the perfectly simple designs from egg press:

Do you have a favorite eco friendly letterpress company?

sustainable saturday [stray dog designs]

I first saw the work of stray dog designs at anthropologie and instantly fell in love with their charming and colorful (thanks to low VOC paint) papier mache creations. The pieces are all handmade using recycled materials. They also have lovely recycled glass, iron and tin lines.

I just love the color options and whimsy of the pieces. All quite perfect for a beach house, don't you think? Oh and did I mention that a portion of the purchase price is donated to animal welfare groups?

sustainable saturday [rubie green]

Did you know that all of Rubie Green's lovely and much blogged about new bedding is made from organic cotton? Yet another reason to add it to my wish list!

Don't these images just make you want to crawl back into bed? Ok, off to enjoy the day. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

sustainable saturday [stewart brown]

Good Morning! I continue to be delighted by how many amazing eco-friendly clothing companies are out there and Stewart Brown is no exception.

They were actually one of the first pioneers in the sustainable fashion movement.

The pieces are incredibly elegant and a little more formal than some other eco-friendly clothing lines I have come across.

In addition to using organic cotton for their pieces they also use tencel gauze, hemp silk charmeuse (never thought I would hear that!), hemp jersey and linen.

sustainable saturday [nugaard designs]

Sorry for the late post today but it is just such a beautiful day here that I just couldn't bring myself to come indoors. However, my pink cheeks told me that it was time to get out of the sun! I am very excited to share the beautiful creations of nugarrd designs with you. This stunning natural material jewelry line is the brainchild two young Brazilian women, Alessandra Feio and Erica Pacey. My favorite is their CAMPO collection which features pieces made from an remarkable shimmery golden natural grass grown only in northwestern Brazil:

Isn't the shimmer and texture added from the grass just amazing? I am just fascinated by it! Other pieces from their line feature real leaves dipped in precious metals and “Olho de Boi” seeds.

sustainable saturday [eco-ganik]

I am quite excited about an eco friendly and very feminine clothing line that I recently came across, eco-ganik. They have hit a unique chord by catering to both the the fashion forward as well as eco-conscious consumer. All of their pieces are made out of 100% organic cotton, made in the USA, use only the lowest impact dyes and are modestly priced.
