viceroy miami {kelly wearstler}

This has been one busy and fun weekend--from rafting, celebrating birthdays, waxing the car and taking multiple hikes I definitely feel the need for a little R&R and I am thinking that that Viceroy Miami would be the perfect place. The Viceroy Miami opened earlier this year and was designed by Kelly Wrestler and it is nothing short of fabulous!

sustainable saturday {the best of letterpress]

There are really an amazing number of letterpress studios that use eco-friendly production practices, making it much easier to throw parties in eco chic fashion. I thought I would share just a few of my favorite eco-friendly and whimsical options. I just love the detail of the work from ink+wit...

..the creative motifs from pancakes&franks...

...the classic work of bella figura...

...and the perfectly simple designs from egg press:

Do you have a favorite eco friendly letterpress company?

etsy crush: plum cushion

I was overjoyed to have found plum cushion on etsy this morning! They currently have some absolutely beautifully made designer fabric pillows. The owner has a background in interior design and wants to "provide beautiful home accessories to consumers with discerning taste and real-life budgets" and wow do they do just that. I especially love these pillows made with Kelly Wreastler's line of fabric:

They also have some bolder and wilder patterned pillows made with Trina Turk's 'Peacock Print' fabric, as well as some lovely traditional styles from Schumacher and Lee Jofa.

eat-in kitchens (pt.2)

A couple weeks ago I posted about how I was on the fence about eat in kitchens but I just came across these lovely and more contemporary examples and I am definitely no longer on the fence! I can completely see cooking, entertaining and loving each of these!

common thread: lovely light fixture

In looking for your interior design style it is said that you should start by collecting clippings of rooms that you love and then look back though all of them to find the common thread. Today I found that to be incredibly true when I saved away three lovely dining rooms and realized that that each of the, although quite different in overall style, featured a very similar Fortuny (i think!) light fixture.

And I also happen to love that each dining room features unique chairs--especially smitten with the blue and cream ones. Do you have common theme that you find in the clippings you save?

{event inspiration] seaside nuptials

The beach is a very popular wedding location and with beautiful backdrop of waves and the sunset it is easy to see why. It is naturally a casual setting and lends itself well to bold color, casual atmosphere and of course romance. Taking a cue from the sea --- blues are always a great base color for the setting. And then adding in pops coppery coral add a beautiful splash of unexpected color.

afternoon pick me up {lovely interiors}

It is that time of day when my eyes are having a very hard time stay fixed on the computer--so these lovely images were literally a sight for sore eyes. Definitely the little pick me up I needed to get through the last hour of the work day.

Isn't this the most lovely and well styled closet? I just love the graphic rug, the uncluttered shelves and the perfectly sized chandelier.

Really loving the pale yellow and pink pops in this living area and architectural detail over the beautiful white fireplace.

And this kitchen, it is just well straight out dreamy and love the ladder for all those hard to reach shelves--definitely much more civilized than standing on the counter.

It's [officially] time for white!

With Memorial Day comes the official "ok" to break out the summer whites. So to celebrate the occasion, here are some of my favorite summery white looks from head to floor.

Happy Memorial Day!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful memorial day. A very big thank you to all of the men and women that have served (and are serving) this country! Just a couple photos that put me in the patriotic spirit...

sunday shelves

I have been doing quite a bit of spring cleaning this weekend and organizing my shelves has been one of my major projects. It is amazing how many vases, random home accessories and books just haphazardly found their way to my kitchen and living room shelves. Just a little inspiration to keep me going...

sustainable saturday [stray dog designs]

I first saw the work of stray dog designs at anthropologie and instantly fell in love with their charming and colorful (thanks to low VOC paint) papier mache creations. The pieces are all handmade using recycled materials. They also have lovely recycled glass, iron and tin lines.

I just love the color options and whimsy of the pieces. All quite perfect for a beach house, don't you think? Oh and did I mention that a portion of the purchase price is donated to animal welfare groups?

serenity in style

If you are looking for a serene and relaxing vacation retreat, this is the place for you. The neutral color palette, inviting textures and the lack of clutter all create an instant calm. I also just love how well accessorized this home is, especially in the living and dining area.

And the extra long curtains and table cloth add a just the right amount of casual glamour.

(via nuevo estilo)
The color palette and feel very much remind me of the work of michael del piero, who I posted about a few weeks back. Hope you all have an absolutely marvelous long holiday weekend!!
