home tour {my kind of modern}

My personal design aesthetic does not tend to be on the modern end of the spectrum but I do love the recently completed project of Jessica Helgerson. This home of a young family in Portland is warm, clean, full of creative touches and preserves many of the traditional architectural elements.

I have never seen a mirrored mural before and love the way it looks in this front hall--especially on the ceiling.

It is furnished in classic, modern and contemporary styles adding a warmth to the design.

This subtle wallpaper creates the perfect backdrop for a soothing bedroom retreat.

And I always love Jessica's kitchens and dining rooms and the ones in this home are no exception! What fun light fixtures she choose.

Hope you love this house as much as I do! You can see more of this home right here.

Absolutely love it! That's my kind of design....
What a wonderful space! I love all the unique elements. I too love how the traditional architecture and elements are still intact and maintained. Apron front sink...I die.

I completely agree with you about not necessarily liking modern interiors but, when I saw this house on another website, lots of aspects really worked for me. Thanks for sharing xx

ooo so fresh! I love this because its all white.
Unfortunately with a baby I can only keep one room white! ha ha...
I posted about it today:)
Have a lovely mOnday!
Love the creative use of mirror. Unfortunately I love bold color too much for the rest of the space. I do love the shapes and balance of the pieces, however.Great inspiration!

This is one of the prettiest houses i've seen in a while. This is definitely one of my favorite styles. The mirrored mural is such a great idea and I love the tile all over the kitchen.

How unique and different that mirror mural is in the entry way. I really like it! I especially love all of the colors used throughout this house. Definitely a big fan of the kitchen and that LIVING ROOM is gorgeous!
What a beautiful, well executed design. The mirrors are spectacular and interesting. The rest of the house, I find quite soothing. I love the mix of soft and dark colors unified by white. Great post! Come visit my Monday's Method ~ I actually suggest a color very similar to the color of the kitchen to my reader. I really love it!

i'm crazy about this house and the colors!

i'm REALLY interested in the exact color of the living room: i must have put about 12 swatches on the wall of my "great room" to find a similar color and would love love love to know the name of it?!

i settled on sherwin williams Colonial Revival Gray, which seems fairly close.

but if it's possible to know -- i'd love to!
