eye candy {contemporary country}

This past weekend I decided it was finally time to get a library card and see what the local library had stocked in the interior design section. I was thoroughly impressed and came home with many lovely hardbacks but was most impressed with Contemporary Country--especially these lovely masterfully mixed style dining areas on its pages.

Are you a fan of this cozy yet sophisticated style?

It took me a long time to reconcile my crazy tastes and put a label on it, these photos illustrate it perfectly!
I am always drawn to a farm table paired with modern seating. The contrast is so gorgeous!

OHH yes, yes I could certainly see myself there. I think I would be so calm all the time:)

Before I could afford to subscribe to magazines I would go to the local library and pour over design books. There are some great Design books out there!

I am a huge fan of cozy-and-sophisticated style: I'm pretty sure it is my style mantra, actually.

I am particularly smitten with the tables in the first and last photos. I need to find myself an antique vintage table, the bigger the better. I'm trolling vintage shops, flea markets and barn sales.

Love the dining table in the middle photo. Did they happen to source it in the book?
Earth colours sure work well! :) xo

Yes - this is really beautiful and simple - and serene. A lovely palette. Sometimes people just get too fussy when designing their homes - when simple is far more effective!
