small space inspiration {going vertical}

This Cape Town loft is only 59 square meters, which I can't convert to feet off the top of my head (at least not on a Friday) but none the less it is small! They really used the space well by adding a mezzanine level for the bedroom and a sitting area.

The use of open shelves and the ladders eliminates the space that closed cabinets and sraures would take up.

Lastly, the bathroom is quite brilliant as does not have a traditional shower or bath but rather just a showerhead coming from the ceiling and a floor and wall of tile to make the entire room waterproof.

The floors! they're bricks of wood. I can just imagine the floor after 100 years of traffic - softly curved and worn.

If I converted correctly, that's about 630sq.ft., which isn't all that small!! In NY that would be a palace!! My apartment is 480sq.ft. and it has plenty of room without going vertical. Nonetheless, this is a lovely apartment.

That is absolutely beautiful and ridiculously amazing. But I think it would take an adjustment to strip down and shower in the room like that. I know you'd be alone, but I'd still feel so.. revealed. Still, awesome!

My style of home, like a grown ups cubby house , lots of fun spaces.

I lived in Greece for a few years and many bathrooms are done with the showerhead like that. I Love it!

It's beautiful! Great use of space. That's how most showers are done in S Africa and commonwealth countries.

So cool! I love this couple's style.
My brother lived in Cape Town for two years. Gorgeous city. He ran into his surgeon (completed an emergency appendectomy)and this place looks like a palace in comparison to his.
oooh, super cool! you would be forced to be clean and tidy at all times. love the vibe they have going on...

Love this! There's something that satisfies my kid self about living in a loft... maybe somehow relates to my love of fort building and the thrilling idea of owning a bunk bed?
