loving {neutral design + branches}

One of my favorite inexpensive touches to add to a room is a vase of branches. They hold up better than flowers and I am currently in love with the wonderful warmth and texture they add to neutral rooms.

fall fashion trend {cuffed jean shorts}

I have to say that I have not worn jean shorts since high school and this year they definitely re-emerged as a fashionable choice. It seems this trend is continuing in to the fall, especially when they are cuffed.

whisper soft blues

Wow, it seems like overnight the leaves have drastically started to change colors and a down comforter has become needed at night. I have to say I love the cool breezes that come with fall almost as much as a love adding breezy soft blues to a home.

I cannot believe it is already Labor Day weekend, which means that it is almost the end of alfresco season and the beginning of apres ski season! Oh, how I wish I was enjoying the last days of entertaining outdoors at such a lovely table...

afternoon eye candy {charcoal and peach}

I have been swooning over this room ever since I saw it in Canadian House and Home. I quickly saved it away in my dream home inspiration folder. The pale pop of peach mixed with the cool charcoal accents is just stunning.

This room not only features a lovely color combination but wonderful symmetry and love the idea of the smoked glass about the mantle. I know I wish I was lounging in this room right now!

fall embellishment watch {sequins}

I am definitely a girl that loves embellishments and this fall it seems that sequins are reigning supreme. Miu Miu is even making sequin knee socks for $435!

Very busy with work today but I did want to check in quickly and express my adoration of this new wedding dress from J.Crew. It proves that black touches in a wedding can be soft and romantic and not always modern and formal.

serene elegance {frank ponterio}

If you have been reading for a while you will know that this past April on a trip home to visit my family I was lucky enough to tour the Lake Forest Showhouse. Although the entire house was stunning there was one room in which I completely fell in love, the conservatory designed by Frank Ponterio. Serene, elegant, natural, incredibly styled...well, I could write a novel on why I loved this room but I will just show you pictures instead!
