cheap(er) chic: tribal style

With the warmer weather finally staying around here in Jackson Hole I am beginning to embrace the trends of summer and none more than tribal chic. As a lover of embellishments and bold colors this style is right up my alley, particularly when there are such beautiful and affordable options!

I have to say that I don't typically wear heels--but these are just calling my name! What is your favorite summer trend?

{event inspiration} marigold+marine blue

Lately it seems that every photographers portfolio, wedding blog and wedding planner's sites feature a wedding with marigold and marine blue details. It is such a fresh combination and wonderful for laid back and fun loving couples.

Do you think you could throw such a retro hued event?

color inspiration {grassy green}

For sometime now kelly green has been quite popular and is absolutely one of my favorites for its playful and vibrant quality. However I have also been swooning over interiors that feature paler and more sophisticated shade of this lovely color.

There is just something so soothing about this color and the perfect way to start another hectic day!

swoonworthy {studio choo}

I was working on an event inspiration board when I stumbled across the work of Studio Choo-a duo of two very creative gals in Pacifica, California. Their floral designs are full of texture, creativity and whimsy. Purusing their flickr photostream was a wonderful little escape in my very hectic day. So if you are in need of some floral inspiration or just need a little eye candy I recommend you hop on over and check them out!

And they have an adorable blog documenting their current work and random musings.

high contrast stripes

I have been thinking about area rugs a lot lately--mainly because I have been considering a new one for my home and have realized that I am quite picky. So often when I am flipping through my favorite shelter magazines the rug truly is a deal breaker between loving or liking a room. I am thankful to have finally found a a rug style that I truly love in pretty much any room and with any style-- high contrast striped (especially wide) rugs...

Do you have a rug style? Or a component of a room that really makes or breaks it for you? If you are looking for more striped rug inspiration Anne did a wonderful post on some this week as well!

love affair {plank + farmhouse tables}

My love affair for plank and farmhouse style tables began when I went to a showhouse earlier this year and saw this table in my favorite room. Since then my adoration for this style has continued to grow. They just add such a lovely charm and warmth to a space!

event inspiration {hot summer nights}

With the upcoming Independence Day weekend I definitley have casual hot summer night events on my mind--particularly those that are shoreside with a cool ocean breeze and where I would imagine there would be an amazing view of local fireworks.

Do you have any fun firework viewing plans for this weekend?

al fresco dining {by light}

I am finally getting to spend sometime on my deck with a glass of wine at the end of the day and wish that I had a more glamorous form of lighting then my current flood lights, perhaps a lovely chandelier? I just so prefer a soft glow when outdoors in the evening--whether the light source has a more modern edge...
...exudes casual glamour...

or is quaint and rustic.

How do you light your outdoor living and dining areas? Also, I am completely crazy about the first outdoor space and you can see more of it right here--it is part of a wonderful patio makeover.

sophisticated twist on turquoise

Turquoise has long been my favorite color for jewelry but lately it has been creeping its way in to my dream wardrobe and home accessory crushes. I once thought it was only appropriate for casual looks but these pieces prove that turquoise definitely has stand alone sophistication.

Also I have a guest post today over at Mostly Mod on one of my favorite modern calligraphers!
