Bohlin Cywinksi Jackson...

...quite a mouthful indeed for a firm that designs such simple homes. I am having dinner with a friend of my parents tonight and BCJ is the firm she is using to design her new home. So, naturally I had to do a little pre dinner research. What I found is that this firm is versatile and excels at creating open floor plans (which I love). A sampling of their residential projects

They have quite an extensive portfolio of both commercial and residential projects on their website - http://www.bcj.com/.

Winter Roundup: Clean Cream

I always gravitate towards cream or winter white outerwear, which is surprising because mine always end up covered in slush and red wine! Either way, I love it. I just love how clean it looks on its own or with a fun pattern mixed in and maybe just little bit because you can camouflage yourself in the snow!

My favorite finds both formal and everyday :

Clean and classic with touch of modern from the buttons and cropped sleeves (from Chloe).

I love the whimsy and sophistication of this pattern and shape (from j.crew).

Elegance incarnate (from Burberry).

I love the paddigton bear-esque toggles (from Tibi).

Perfect for scraping the ice of the car or strolling around town (from Cloudveil)

Something is wrong with this picture

I love snow and my baby blue cruiser bike--however, I don't quite enjoy the combination of the two! Needless to say it was a very cold snowy weekend in Jackson.

Later today - list of the most stylish winter apparel.

Eyelet Elegance

I love Real Wedding Saturday over at Snippet & Ink! Kathryn always showcases such beautiful weddings but today's may be one of my favorites. I think it is such a cool idea to tie all the details of the wedding to a dress--in this case a beautiful eyelet Carolina Herrera dress. The pale yellow and green color combination is just so fresh!

Visit Snippet & Ink for more stunning pictures of this elegant southern wedding.

Autumn Orange

The snow has subsided and I am adamant about enjoying fall before the flakes fly again. That is why I put together a list of my favorite autumn orange home finds. I just ADORE the owl!

Snow day!

Here in Jackson we are currently experiencing a winter storm watch and it is truly coming down hard- it has been less than four months since the snow stopped! I am (of course!) underressed and all I want to do is curl up by this beautiful fireplae with some hot cocoa.

I love how they painted stones in the mantel--a great idea for opening up this space!

Flats with Flair!

Being 5' 10" I tend to exclusively wear flats-I have already worn through 3 pairs of Tory Burch flats in the past year alone! Flats really make me feel more feminine then heels and these embellished flats definitley do:

Lighten Up Your Nest

As many Americans have, I have been habitually watching CNN, reading the New York Times and constantly checking the DOW on my i-phone. It easily gets me feeling anxious but it also makes me realize how important it is be comfortable and happy in your home. Right now all I want to do is wallpaper our apartment with bright colored polka dots--so I went online and looked for fun new and HAPPY wallpaper. I then realized that I am renter and don't have such liberties but I can use these wallstickers from Ferm Living:

I think these will make anyone quite happy indeed! I think the coat rack is brilliant. Stay tuned for more uplifting decorating ideas later this week.

Round One!

It really is proving difficult to incorporate the pink as much as I think Melissa would like but I am not giving up! Any suggestions? So, this is a work in progress:

I especially love the idea of the guest book with colored envelopes and the beautiful fondant and icing work on the cake. Check back for round two of Melissa's inspiration board.

Post Preview: Marigold Marriage

One of my best friends, Melissa, is getting married next fall and couldn't be more excited for her! Her color scheme is going to be orange, pink and yellow--all colors that I think suit her bubbly and warm personality perfectly. In honor of the big day I am working on putting together a wedding inspiration board for the bride to be! This is the picture I plan on building it all around:

(Martha Stewart Weddings)

Don't you just love the beautiful yellow detailing on the dress and the adorable cardigan? Goes to show a traditional dress doesn't have to be all white! Check back later today for the complete board. Very excited...
