Buon Viaggio!
I will be taking my first trip to Europe this spring--Italy is to be exact. I am beyond elated but am having a hard time pinning down details beyond the flight there and back--so many places to see and of course so little time. I would love any recommendations for my itinerary that you all may have! The one thing that is for sure is that I would love to spend time unwinding on a terrace just like this one...

a lovely statement
There are always those pieces in a room or elements of an outfit that make a statement and create a look. I can guarantee this incredible plexiglass clutch, vintage loveseat and bold rug will all do just that..

out in the open
I love going into homes where personal artifacts and accessories are openly displayed, especially when in a lovely manner. It evokes a confidence that I find incredibly appealing--that sense that one is not afraid to display their favorite books or their kitchen staples to guests. Oh, how I would love to meet the homeowners of this apartment and climb the ladder to leaf through those books...
...or examine the selection of herbs and spices that they display.
By the way, pretty fabulous kitchen, no? So smart of the homeowners to encase it in glass and make what is a very small home much more open.

punches of pink
Pink is a power color. There is no way to ignore the punch it adds to a room especially when added to a neutral canvas. These spaces by Jay Jeffers showcase just how a tiny touch of the color can energize a room.

about face
I tend to feel that a fireplace (if it is not an eyesore) should be the focal point of a room. I know it greatly pained me to place my dining room table in front of my wood burning stove. So it is certainly against my intuition to place seating away from one...

I guess they are on wheels though so they could easily be twirled around.

grand {magical} entrance
It is said that "you can't judge a book by its cover" but I ask can you judge a home by it's grand entrance? All I know is that this magical Moroccan inspired entry definitely has me wanting to cross the threshold.

silver + mandarin
Sexy is not a word I use often, at least in terms of a color combination but I can't help but use it when describing the look of silver and mandarin together.

And how could you not feel sexy in those sandals!?

eye candy {loft living}
Although lofts can be chic I have a hard time with the very open living plan. I am all for airy open spaces but do crave some sort of room division. However, every once and a while there are lofts that I long for and this is one of them. Perhaps it is the height and volume of the floral designs, flawless accessorizing, swoon worthy dining table or the differing wall colors...

breakfast nooks with a hint of sunshine
These cold Wyoming winter days are making me crave a little sunshine yellow and ever since posting this sun porch last week I have been craving a breakfast nook too. Which is why these spaces are all striking my fancy...

I have to have one of these luxurious handbags or this clutch from Perrin Paris. So chic, unique and sure to make a statement!

eye candy {morning retreat}
When I was fresh out of college my mornings were precious--I would get up early to watch the news, eat a full breakfast and have a moment of calm before a long day of work. Nowadays I am lucky if I even have enough time to turn on the coffee pot! I think that if I had this lovely sun porch in which to enjoy the morning light that perhaps I could get back to the morning routine of my early 20's.

I just love the tolix chairs mixed with the simple farmhouse style table and the large potted topiaries--all in all a perfect morning retreat.
