favorite [fall fete] palette

Love the combination of terra cotta, peach and teal for this fall's fetes! It is the perfect blend of moody and soft.

softer [black + white] alternative

I love the classic combination of black and white. I love the crisp classic feeling that it creates, but it can also come off a bit cold at the same time. If you are looking for a warmer feel but still want a classic feeling, then cream and black is a wonderful alternative.

dream home [sabrina linn]

I didn't think I could love Canadian House and Home magazine more that I already did. Well, I was wrong as it was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on this impeccably styled, colorful, perfectly layered and all around breathtaking loft of Sabrina Linn. Every single corner of it is full of inspiration.

And with all of the beautiful pillows she creates it is no surprise that she has an incredible inspiration board.

And an equally inspiring wardrobe for that matter.

Even the neutral spaces in her home have a "wow" factor --from all the luxurious touches (that metallic backslash and gold detailing on the lower cabinets!) and juxtaposing styles (vintage stools mixed with modern and elegant ones).

She also layered different shades and textures of neutrals perfectly, as proven in this little sitting area.

Yes, it is true love!

perfect fall [interior inspired] pieces

I don't think it is any secret that I love the way interiors can inspire fashion and vis versa. When I saw this colorful corner of a bedroom designed by chloe warner I knew that it was the perfect inspiration for fall's key fashion pieces.

The perfect mix of color and styles. A signature bold colored dress, a statement clutch, a classic carry all bag--all topped of with fabulous belt and neutral pair of shoes that will both carry over to the spring season and all those after.

I am also now craving bold colored bedside nesting tables!

pale blue + hint of sparkle

With crystal, just like gold, a little goes a long way to add glamour to a room. Having a crystal light fixture does not necessarily mean that the tone of the room has to be opulent, stuffy or formal. This is especially the case when the fixtures are unexpected shapes, unconventionally placed and paired with a casual color backdrop.

fashioning interiors [erdem+bedrooms]

I am not one for girly and frilly clothing, especially not anything with lace or traditional floral detail but one look at the Erdem's Spring 2010 line and that feeling went out the door. He perfectly blended classic lines, and fresh style with the perfect feminine touch. A style that also happens to be perfect for the bedroom...

dash of [framed] glamour

Looking around my living room I would say that it is welcoming and has a classic clean look. Even though I have a few glamorous accessories I really want to add one key piece that exudes glamour without going overboard. So, I have a mirror that I am going to redo the frame of in soft gold and I hoping it will turn out looking just like these...

Or maybe I will switch out the track lights in my kitchen for a simple crystal chandelier...but I will save inspiration on that idea for another post! What do you have in your home to add a subtle splash of glamour?

divine {casual] dining

I am loving the eclectic feel and unexpected elements in these casual dining rooms. From the mix of this country style table, modern chairs and rustic lantern lighting...

...to this retro and contemporary dining room with one fabulous pink table (from blu dot).

[bookmark worthy] brick

I was clearing out all my bookmarked web pages that I didn't need anymore (there was probably 300!) and noticed quite the trend in the most recent ones. Almost every single apparel and home item that I had saved contained one fabulous fall color, a lovely brick red. I thought they were the perfect items (some of which are under $250!) to share with you on the first official day of fall!

(wool and silk Thakoon dress, steve alan checked fall shirt, j.crew peeptoe pumps, tory burch enamel clutch, madeline weinrib throw pillow)
Needless to say I didn't delete the bookmark links to these items!

color combination {slate+copper}

It was downright summery here all weekend. So I was completely not prepared for it to be the last weekend of the farmers market, for football to perpetually be on TV and to be cutting up leaves when mowing the lawn. However I am ready to add a touch of warm fall color to my home (and wardrobe) with neutral and natural slate and copper accents.

So, I ask you what colors (or patterns, for that matter!) are you getting ready to add to your home this fall?

*Also tomorrow is the last day to hop on over to delight by design sponsor, Padgett Hoke's, blog and enter the giveaway for one of her lovely creations!

eat-in {country} kitchen

Ah, yes my little obsession with eat in kitchens continues. But this time it is not the sleek modern kitchens of luxurious urban dwellings but rather the charming and warm country version.

subtle shimmer for spring [2010]

I am loving all the soft shimmery looks in the spring 2010 lines, but I think this strapless Halston number with the perfectly loose silhouette and....

this stunning and sophisticated outfit from Tory Burch are my two favorite examples of this look.

(rooms via jay jeffers and design*sponge)
And how perfect is that little pop of hot pink from the shoes--talk about one stellar ensemble! Just like these outfits I love the way that these subtle and shimmery looks can translate in to an interior.

event inspiration {preppy in pastels}

When I saw the photograph of this lovely this bride against such stunning wallpaper I knew that that it was the perfect color inspiration for a preppy affair. I love the softness and sophistication that the touches of blue and yellow add to the classic pink and green preppy palette.

cheap(er) chic: casual glamour

Casual glamour is definitely a difficult balance to strike--it is all about a few luxurious touches mixed with organic and understated elements. I think this space and cheap(er) chic clothing pieces perfectly embody that mix...

Plus I love any room or outfit that has a splash of turquoise! And love the use of screens in this dining/living area.

pretty [and bold] in plum

A little goes a long way with rich and vibrant plums, making it one of my favorite statement colors for this fall.

much needed serenity

It was one of those weekends where I hardly had a moment at home--between art gallery walks, saki and sushi, college football and a run for charity it has been a bit of hectic although very enjoyable weekend. I think these serene and amazingly neutral spaces would be perfect ones to unwind from the weekend festivities.

subtle with gold

When many people think of gold in the home they think bright and formal but softer golds are perfect for even the most casual of spaces and add such a lovely warmth. Whether from a frame...

or even on the ceiling!

By the way I saw the above room in person and the ceiling was just beautiful! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

fall twist on the basics

When it comes to fall I immediately think neutrals but even basic colors can have pizazz. My favorite twist on basic black this season is when it is adorned with ruffles...

(via chloe, prada, christopher kane)
And when it come to taupe, loving everything with luxurious textures and golden touches.

(derek lam, chloe and clements ribeiro)
Now if only I could afford that cape! I think it may be about time for a cheap(er) chic post!

fashioning interiors {calypso}

It is officially the long weekend season--from leaf peeping and apple picking to recouping from the hustle and bustle of summer. And with these trips comes the pressure of lightly packing for a time of year when the weather is unpredictable. The answer is a trip to Calypso. They have the perfect pieces for layering and those versatile enough for every weekend occasion.

Oh, how I miss having a calypso store nearby--it was my favorite stop on Newbury Street when I lived in Boston!
