perfect pairing {warm+cold}

I love when both warm and cool colors are used to accent a space, such as the various shades of pinks and blue subtly scattered throughout this lovely home. I also am so intrigued how well this home flawlessly blends eclectic style with a refined sensibility.

designer crush {porter grey}

I am completely crazy about the classically feminine pieces from the three year old Porter Grey--all of them are perfect for the upcoming fourth of July weekend festivities! The line is intended for women that "understand subtle elegance...and have a quiet confidence that does not rely on momentary trends."

I don't know about you--but I would love every one of these pieces!

subtle bursts of sea glass

The warm weather this past weekend made me wish that I was sitting on a screened in porch being cooled off by the ocean breeze. When in comes to coastal interiors I prefer subtle shades of blues and greens, like those found in sea glass--even just a few touches against an all white backdrop creates perfect seaside serenity...

sustainable saturday {maramiki}

I have been on a search for beautiful organic textiles and think the the hand-screenprinted organic creations of maramiki are my current favorite. The designs are just so beautifully delicate and whimsical!

Do you have a favorite green fabric? Also, the very talented artist and delight by design sponsor, Lara Harris, is having an incredible giveaway to celebrate her new etsy store---she is giving away a custom oil painting! I highly recommend you pop over to her blog and enter before the 28th! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

feeling bookish

This has been a long week and I could not be more excited that it is Friday. One thing that I have not done in a while that I am determined to do this weekend is read a book! So, when I was thinking about which book to buy I also started thinking of where and how I should store my new book purchase and these are the images I looked to for ideas...

Do you have a unique place that you store books? Hope that you have a lovely and relaxing weekend!

cheap(er) chic: cheery coral

I have worn a coral colored article of clothing or accessory almost every day this week(including today!)--as a color it just adds an instant brightness to any ensemble. I think I may even need to add a few more items into the mix for this summer. Some of my favorite coral cheap(er) chic finds:

thomas paul plate set ($36 for a set of 4), j.crew handbag ($149.99), anthropologie earrings ($118), brian atwood slides (50% off), banana republic necklace ($56), day birger et mikkelsen dress ($160), clutch from red ruby rose's etsy shop ($75)

unwinding with pretty pottings

Work has been very crazy this week and unfortunately I don't think there is any end in sight but I have found a new way to unwind--gardening! I have just started to become interested in potting (4 pots in the last week!) and would love a specified place in my home to cultivate my green thumb. I am thinking perhaps a lovely potting bench...

Or maybe even a potting shed and that way if my interest wains that I could convert it into a lovely guest house...

Or even casual dining quarters...hmm.

How do you unwind after a long day!? Hope you all have a lovely evening--I am off for a belated birthday dinner.

{event inspiration} moody hues

I usually lean toward warmer tones for summer events but lately I have been quite fond of cool blue, pink and magenta palettes--it creates the perfect backdrop for crisp Wyoming evening soirees. Just a mini inspiration board to prove why...

Just so incredibly romantic, unexpected and perfectly casual!

fuschia+bright orange

Ever since seeing the fuchsia and bright orange Kate Spade tote below I have been crazy about the color combination and then I stretched seeing it everywhere! As I have not totally embraced the neon color trend in clothing this combination is my step toward bold and bright color.

beautiful art display {vincente wolf}

Vincente Wolf's lovely home was just featured in the July/August Veranda and is just gorgeous! I am especially enamored with the interesting way he displays his photos and art...on chairs!

How do you display your art? The chairs are also just wonderful--such a great example of mix and match styles!

monday color pop {soothing lavender}

I have never had fresh lavender (although it is one of my favorite scents!) and just planted some in my new pot of herbs. Needless to say the smell is absolutely divine and is instantly soothing. I am thinking that having a little dose of the color of this herb's lovely flower in my home may evoke the same serenity and calm.

What is you current favorite color? Quite curious to know.

bringing the outdoors in {lattice detail}

I have been completely drawn to interiors lately that feature lattice like detail. I think it such a fun way to add some architectural interest and bring the feeling of lounging outdoors in to the home.

sustainable saturday {beklina botique}

I had come across the online store, beklina, earlier this year and thought the lines they showcased were unique and quite stylish but didn't realize until today that they were all green products! I was delighted and had to share some of my favorites among the amazing pieces that this three woman operation handpicked to carry...

It also seems that I am being drawn to belted looks! Happy Saturday!
