sustainable saturday {weekly round-up}

For the second installment of sustainable saturday I wanted to share a couple things I came across this week that continue to prove that there is such a thing as eco-chic.

Loving the new designs from LoooLo textiles, a truly a fabulous company that works to make products that "blend modern aesthetics with true sustainability." All of their beautiful products are made of certified organic materials and are completely biodegradable. These pillows would add wonderful visual interest and texture to any chair, bed or sofa they were thrown on!

Also pretty smitten with these both beautiful and beautifully packaged goats milk soaps from beekman 1802. They are completely chemical free and dyed with only natural dyes.

Great gift or as an adornment for your own powder room. So, I am curious, what do you do to be green (even if something small) or do you have a favorite eco friendly product?

Happy Weekend!

(via anson smart)
I hope you all have a lovely and relaxing weekend. The snow has stopped but the temperature is barely in the double digits, so I will be spending the weekend wishing I paddled my way over to a beautiful island and was relaxing in this stunning outdoor living area.

or maybe overlooking the ocean here...

Make sure to check back tomorrow for the next installment of the new sustainable saturday series!

cheap(er) chic: spring flowers

Sorry for the late cheap(er) chic this week, as you can tell from the light posting it has been a busy one between work and trying to put a plan together for my new business. I love all the floral patterns for this spring and wanted to put together a cheap(er) chic that showed that florals can be sophisticated.

garden tools revisted

I love the idea of using this garden rake (sorry I don't know the proper term and I definitely don't have a green thumb) as a letter holder. Wouldn't is be adorable to display table cards at a casual wedding? And you could spray paint them any color to match your decor or your event.

Is spring here yet?

I didn't think I could crave the coming of spring more than I did this morning waking up to sleet falling from the sky. But that was before I came across these beautifully colorful pieces from marimekko designed by mika pirainen. The pattern and colors are so uplifting, bold and vibrant. Wouldn't mind having any of these items to get me though the looming Jackson "mud season".

And the umbrella would at least be practical (not to mention pretty) investment, right?!

feeling cagey

..birdcages that it! I just keep seeing them everywhere and think they add such a nice air of whimsy and magic to a home or party. Whether used to display candles or to take up empty floor space I am a very big fan.

dream living room

I adore this living room--it the perfect blend of modern, simple and classic design. Not to mention the abundant light streaming in and and the lovely yellow touches. And that beautiful worn wooden chest is the perfect coffee table and centerpiece to top it all off.

sweet scallops

Loving scalloped details for the spring. They just add a touch of sweetness without going overboard. Whether on the hemline, collar or sleeves I think it is just the perfect way to inject understated femininity to any outfit. I especially love all the beautiful scalloped summer pieces from Chloe.

move over rolodex!

I have always had an odd infatuation with the Rolodex--all those names and numbers physically at your fingertips versus in an electronic device is just so appealing to me. Oddly, I have never had one but this alternative method is definitely going up in my office.

Just organize the cards in whatever way you see fit and clip them. Also one more item to get off your desk! Now I just need to start collecting the cards.

time for a little trip?

(via petrina tinslay)
I beginning to feel a little antsy to get out of Jackson and craving some travel and adventure. However, since my bank account does not think this is a good idea I thought it was time to take my blog on another trip. So far these "trips" have taken me to both England and France but I can't decide when I would like to go next.

Maybe the beautiful and sunny beaches of Brazil?

Or a romantic countryside?

A charming old city of brick and stone paved streets?

Somewhere both exotic and luxurious?

But then again, the coast of southern Italy doesn't sounds like a bad idea either. So many options. And all of these beautiful photos from Julien Capmeil make the choice even harder! Where would you like to go? I would love your suggestions!

photographer spotlight {anitta behrendt}

Very grey and damp morning here in Jackson Hole. However the stunning color and warm light of the spaces in photographer Annitta Behredt's portfolio are the perfect Monday morning pick me up.

organized clutter

I have a love hate relationship with clutter, as it can either create warmth or just utter chaos in a space. Such a fine line and I think these open kitchen shelves illustrate how beautiful organized clutter can be. I especially love the variety and unexpectedness of the items displayed.

What are your thoughts on clutter? Love it or hate it?

sustainable saturday {dawes design}

I am starting a new Saturday series that promotes eco-friendly products and design. For this first installment I wanted to share these rings from Dawes Design that prove how chic eco-friendly jewelry can be. These beautiful stackable rings are handmade from recycled gold and conflict free stones.

a very happy weekend to you

I have had a crazy week and am very much looking forward to a nice quite relaxing weekend. I also wish I would be cruising around town on a cute little vehicle like this toting round beautiful flowers!

creative centerpiece

I love centerpieces. They are so crucial to entertaining--whether a tray of pillar candles or a bowl of baubles--it sets the tone for a gathering. For instance if you saw these fantastical centerpieces full of goldfish you would know you were in for a less than conventional evening.

Do you have a go to centerpiece?

cheap(er) chic: melon

I was planning on doing a basic black cheap(er) chic this week, to go along with the home accessories version I did earlier this week. However, it is a beautiful sunny day here in Jackson and I just had to post something a little bit brighter (and I just wanted to use this necklace in a post!).

new heights

I love high ceilings and the airy spaces they create. However, it can also make a room difficult to decorate and can easily feel pretty bare. I think this space takes advantage of the feature well thanks to the spiral staircase, plethora of pictures on the back wall and art pieces up to the ceiling. It definitely helps to have the enormous window too!

vintage shades

I definitely don't think of my style as vintage but actually pretty basic and boring. However, I do love love these vintage sunglasses from Christian Dior (and they are only $69 on sale at Barneys). I have been sporting aviators for the past year but think it would be fun to have a pair like this to wear on occasion, especially for such a great price!

What is your sunglass style?

calling cards: avie

Sorry for the delayed post today. I have been bogged down with work and daydreaming about starting my own business. I am not really sure what the business will be yet (thinking green interior design consulting) but I have been completely bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. Either way, it will require some calling cards and I just love these colorful and whimsical ones from avie designs. Which is your favorite?

designer crush: lela rose

(lela rose with her doggie)
Lela Rose's spring line is just absolutely to die for. It makes me wish, even more than I already do, that I had some fabulous and formal parties to attend in the near future. The colors, the fabrics and the embellishments are exactly my style.

Yellow and pale gray have been a favorite color combination of mine for a while and these pieces are the hundredth reason why! The cut of this jacket is just fabulous and when paired with that delicate shimmering skirt is nothing less than drop dead gorgeous.

And these midnight blue numbers are just perfectly unexpected and completely classy.

And how beautiful are the embellishments on this dress and jacket? Downright luxurious!

And she also has a very sweet and softer side that is perfect for a little afternoon tea or summer wedding. If you can't tell already-I am completely smitten and wouldn't mind waking up to a closet full of her clothes.

busy little worker bee

Good Morning! I have a very busy work day ahead of me so I will be absent from blogland until this evening. However, I will leave you with some fun and funky work spaces. Hope you all have a wonderful and productive Tuesday.
