happy weekend.

A lovely image from ngoc minh ngo to send you off into the weekend. Sorry for no cheap(er) chic post this week-maybe tomorrow! xx

a paler pink

A couple weeks ago I posted about hot pink accessories and since have determined that pink can work throughout an outfit, that is when it is a beautiful pale and almost dusty rose.

bright white

Oh my do I love this all white bedroom--it is simply perfection! That floor length mirror, that chair and the canopy. Need I say more? Sigh...

shoes fit for a mouse

My nickname is Mouse, so when I saw these precious shoes from marc jacobs I just had to share them. They even have a little curly tail stitched on the back! However, I worry I may attract some of the living version by wearing them?!

luxurious neutrals

I was perusing the portfolio of photographer Patric Johansson and came across this lovely shoot he did for elle interior. I love the neutral color scheme, dark slightly weathered floors, the intricate moldings and overall welcoming feel of the space. As a photographer, he captured the details of the home and its luxurious nature wonderfully.

Ok, off to go home and cook some soup! Have a great evening.

chills...

I saw it first on coco+kelley and then on Decorno and just kept hoping that the terrible news that Domino was closing was all a rumor but then read about it from too many reliable news sources. I am in completely and utter shock! It was my favorite place for color inspiration and reading it always lifted my mood. I am in complete panic as the only other interior design publications that I really love are all international and none of them are available in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What is on your reading list? Do you subscribe to any international shelter publications?

charmed, I am sure

When I think of tory burch's designs "delicate" has never been one of the words that has come to mind--clean, beautiful and bold, yes. Which is why I was so pleasantly surprised when I became enamored with these two new necklaces from her--both incredibly stunning and very delicate.

The one on the left is a grosgrain ribbon with 16 different gold charms and the the one on the right is strands of leather with gold talismans. Definitely a fun and flirty update to the traditional charm jewelry.

crisp green accents

No matter what the current color trend may be I think that I will always prefer an accent of green over any other color. It is just so fresh! I love that it can be both sophisticated and playful as well as both soothing and bold. And when paired with white is creates a crispness that I don't think can be found with any other color combination.

gift from the kitchen

There have surely been times when hosting a dinner party that people ask for your recipe (well, I have only been asked once and it was for this pad thai recipe). However, instead of simply giving them a print out, sending a URL or providing a photocopy of the recipe wouldn't it be so much more lovely on one of these very sweet recipe cards from the petite press.

What is the one dish you make that makes guests ask for the recipe?

al fresco

(via living etc)
It is a lovely clear day in Jackson Hole, that is other than the -26 degree temperatures that greeted my dogs and I this morning. Despite the crisp temperatures my parents, who are in town visiting, used the outdoor grill for burgers last night. It all leaves me longing for some al fresco dining, but I think that is still about five months off.

a pucci portfolio

I have never thought of a document holder as stylish but these pucci ones definitely changed my mind and are sure to make a very stylish impression at your next business meeting.

in need of some luck?

I have heard that you can create your own luck and that is definitley the case with this garden in a bag. All you do it add water and stir the seeds and voila your own lucky clover!

simply put

Sometimes when expressing feelings of love it is best to keep it simple as we all know love can be quite complicated. And that is exactly why I was drawn to these delightfully simple letterpress valentines from the new etsy shop, paper tiger design co.

rationale for luxury

I love when I can find ways to rationalize extravagant purchases and just found one more reason to purchase beautiful designer luggage. When the zipper is broken or a seam tears they can have a beautiful second life as the base of a very glamorous table.

Ok, so it may only slightly rationalize this purchase but it does create a lovely look.

cheap(er) chic: ocean blue

It is coming to that point in the winter when I am just longing to slip on a bathing suit and bask in the sun on a beach. I truly do love snow but waking up every morning to negative temperature is wearing a little old. So for now I will just dream about looking out over a beautiful blue ocean with the warm breeze against my skin though an ocean blue cheap(er) chic. The calypso dress in particular is just calling my name!

letting the light in

This home has some of the best light I have ever seen--each room is just filled with it! I usually love pops of a bright color in home decor but the natural light flowing into these spaces is just yearning for the white floors and walls to reflect off. And the touches of exposed brick just make me swoon.

france calling: cote bastide

Well, this week I seem to be having a little obsession with lovely packaging and therefore I could not resist sharing these beautifully contained products from cote bastide. And from the looks of it these bath salts, soaps and gels must smell divine too!

tea time

We all know drinking a nice cup of herb tea has a calming effect, well now bathing in it can too with these specially made bathtub teas! I have to say that I am quite intrigued by the idea.

a warm breeze

As the cold weather continues to stay in Jackson Hole, I have been left longing a little warmth! Which I was lucky enough to find in the work of California based designer, Erin Martin. She does an amazing job at creating simple, bright and overall beautiful spaces.

(via western interiors)
This is one of my favorite images of her work--I think those seat cushions with the orange trim and the numbers are just brilliant. As is the combination of the very informal table with more formal chairs. Oh, and to have an arrangement of orange tree branches--simply divine.

artist spotlight {ashley collins}

Wow, was the first thing I thought when I came across the artwork of Ashley Collins. She creates the most beautiful and powerful pieces of art with aged paper, text and beautiful figures. Her pieces are quite large in scale and covered in resin to add texture and to provoke the desire of people to touch her work. Ashley has a very impressive fan base that ranges from Robert Redford to Bythe Danner and Kate Capshaw.

france calling: street style

If you love french street style I have found the french blog for you, that I stumbled across on the Vogue Paris site. The blog is from the very stylish illustrator and photographer, Garance Dore.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

mini cheap(er) chic: stripes

Just a little mini cheaper chic to correspond with this weeks imaginary trip to France, as one of the main ways to dress like a french women is to sport stripes!
