the softer side of the gladiator

I have not been able to fully embrace the current trend of gladiator sandals as most of the ones that I see are just too bulky and masculine for my taste. However, I was quite pleased when I finally found some with a more feminine appearance.

(from marc jacobs, dolce vita, sigerson morrison and prada )
What are your thoughts on this trend?

I have to agree with you: I love the way they look on others but when I tried a pair on myself I felt slightly manly.

I'm thinking I still want a pair... they look so cute with jean shorts.

These options are so lovely.

I actually managed to find a pair very similar to those Siegerson Morrison gladiators at Zara... and now I live in them :)

Awesome selection!

I completely agree... there are some pairs that are very "tough" looking. I like the understated more feminine pairs as well...

I haven't fallen in love with the style as of yet either. Maybe I just need to try a pair on to make a final judgement, but so far I haven't jumped on board. I do like the top right version you found though.

I like the style, but I think they work best on taller women. I am pretty short so when you have a tie around the ankle it just makes my legs look even shorter than they already are. I haven't tried a pair on yet but maybe I'd feel different when I put them on.

You found some cute ones! I feel the same way. I remember being on the Free People site and really not liking their bulky versions.

I completely agree with you, so many gladiator sandals are so masculine. These are all so much more feminine - I love those gold ones.

I love the look of gladiators on other people, but it doesn't so much flatter my legs. If I could pull this look off, I would love the bottom left or top right pair!
