pretty in poppy

As much as I love colors I have never really loved red. I was always told that as I blonde it is a good color on me but I quite disagree. It is just so bold and overpowering but I do love it when toned down with a pit of pink to create more of a poppy color, just like the lovely color on the bottom of Louboutins! I think when paired with yellow or a hint of green it is perfect for a summer affair.

(dress from pamella roland, flowers via martha stewart, stationary via cherry berry paper, christian louboutins via elizabath messina, drinks via michelle rago, petals via Snippet& Ink, matches via once wed, candles via mantas wright)
What is your take on poppy? Or red for that matter?

I love poppy! Red has always been my favorite color, tomato red actually, and poppy is pretty darn close. So bright and happy!

i'm the opposite, i was always told that red was my color (dark hair, olive skin). i don't own a lot of it, but when i wear it, i can't help but feel confident.

Love this! I am working on my new Astor St. collection and we have a coral piece coming out which I am now offically naming poppy because that is SUCH a better name for the same color story.

Thanks :)

I love poppy too! (Actually, I love poppy, coral and watermelon - are they different? I think I need to brush up on my crayolas.)
Loveee Poppy--similar to coral but I think coral has more of an orange tint to it, or maybe its a little more pinky than poppy...I dont know. Either way I love this post and this color and all colors like it.
i love red as a color--i just don't wear it.
such a pretty shade!! i recently bought a nail colour from essie in this shade, love it! :)

I adore this color. In fact, my toenails are painted that same shade right now!

I love poppy! I usually like red, but I've been in a very poppy mood for the last year or so. Love the photos.

I have to say, that dress is both glamorous and fabulous!

As for red, the women in my family believe that everyone has their "shade" of red, whether it be an orange-red, a deep-red, or otherwise. Blair, I think this poppy red would be lovely with your blonde hair. [My sister is a blonde and she looks fantastic in poppy red].

Oh my, thank you for opening up my eyes to the many shades of red! I too was told red was one of my best colors, but I tend to wear more coral colors!

How do you always find the best color boards? I love this poppy and I love each snippet of it in these images... especially the bottoms of those shoes. What a fun photo.

A lovely board! I don't wear red often, but I do like it, and I love it on other people.
